Technology Overview
Adipose-derived stem cells exist in very low quantities in the human body and must be expanded in vitro to obtain sufficient mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for cell therapy. The in vitro amplification culture medium is a key raw material. However, conventional culture media are largely dependent on imports.
ITRI has developed a high-performance serum-free culture medium(SFM) free of animal-derived components, eliminating the risk of zoonotic contamination. Based on this medium, an in vitro large-scale MSC manufacturing technology has been established, enabling rapid production of therapeutic-grade MSCs with enhanced stem cell characteristics.
Technical Superiority
The SFM can proliferate about 100-fold of stem cells in 5 days and has a Class II medical material license..
The yield of MSCs is about 10,000-fold higher than that of the serum-containing MSCs culture system.
The efficacy of MSCs is proven by pet clinical trials testing and has profound clinical application value.

Application
1. The medium can be used for the proliferation of MSCs from the umbilical cord, bone marrow, fat, placenta, and other sources. It can also be used as cryopreservation reagent.
2. The unique MSCs mass production technology can be effectively used in the field of pet cell therapy or human cell therapy.
