Technology Overview

ITRI developed a portable molecular diagnostic device "iPMx" , which miniaturizes traditional PCR technology into a handheld system for on-site rapid testing. It provides PCR results within ~40 minutes and can detect viruses even in early or asymptomatic stages. The system achieved 100% accuracy in QCMD blind testing, demonstrating performance comparable to leading international brands.

The iPMx system has received TFDA emergency manufacturing approval and features a localized supply chain. It can also be extended for rapid detection of other infectious diseases.
